Even before I was officially diagnosed with autism, ADHD and bipolar, I realized that I had iffy judgment and questionable executive functioning, and consequently was prone to making bad decisions.
Honestly, I only voted for The Brutalists because Gibson is famously a massive bigot and Walberg has committed 4 separate violent hate crimes. Fuck supporting them. Watch something else, watch anything else. If ever there was a week for self care, this is it.
Your health is 100% more important than filing a piece on The Brutalist. (I feel like writing up one of the director's other films could make for a solid alternative, if you don't want to opt for creepy bald Mark Wahlberg either.)
If you didn't want to see it, Nabin, don't put it on the list.
Like HappyCapy said, the alternative was a movie directed by a bigot starring a ex-con who keeps committing hate crimes—including starring in fucking Faith-based movies!
Cut yourself a break, amigo. Self-care. We know Brody’s performance is probably great. Unless this film becomes a fiasco you’re off the hook. It’s okay to miss one once in a while.
Take the time off. Enjoy yourself. And if you feel you have to see a movie, pit the last two polls losers against each other. A fun comedy or a dumb action film not directed by an anti semite you understandably thought we'd pick out of morbid curiosity. You can't loose whatever you do.
Nathan, take care of yourself. Life is bleak enough right now. Watch some escapist fun. That's what I'm doing. This week I've watched Thelma, My Old Ass and Cunk on Life. I recommend them all.
Everything about The Brutalist sounds like a dare. Nothing I have heard about it makes me think it will be a rewarding or even remotely enjoyable experience.
Of course you don't have to watch it. I thought you'd enjoy the movie, but the last thing I'd want to do is put you through that. So I rescind my vote and would like you to pick any movie or tv show you'd enjoy seeing - in the comfort of your own home - and then get your ass to bed at a decent hour. You can catch this movie some other time. Take care friend.

Plenty of Nazis in the news lately, no need to inflict more of that on yourself.
Well, you could say that about EITHER choice this week....
HA! This is true. 😆

A balding Mark Wahlberg directed by Mel "Sugar Tits" Gibson or a three-plus hour flick about the Holocaust and architecture? Whew. Tough call.
Think I'd watch Severance instead.

If we have Superhero Fatigue at the cinema, we can also have World War II Fatigue.
The Brutalist does not take place during or depict the Holocaust. Flight Risk is directed by a Nazi.

Don't blame me, I voted for Flight Risk.
I voted for Kodos.
Split the difference and watch 1996’s Bullet on The Internet Archive – it has arguably Tupac’s best heel and is just over 90 minutes.
I feel the same ambivalence/reluctance about "The Brutalist", which is why I wanted you to to be my canary in a coalmine on this matter.
No you don't have to see it. Skip it and write more about Stephen King.
Everything about The Brutalist sounds like a dare. Nothing I have heard about it makes me think it will be a rewarding or even remotely enjoyable experience.
Marathon Ernest movies or something.
Nah man, watch The Straight Story.
