This seem like great project, partly because it very odd canon of films to be explored, and partly because me am never going to spend 90 minutes of my life watching It's Pat or Night At Roxbury, but am still very curious.
This would make the project larger, so I understand if it’s too unwieldy, but I think it would be cool to also include brief writeups on the sketches that inspired the movie
I knew that Milton from Office Space started out in animated shorts, but had no idea it was from SNL. Learn something new all the time out here. I like the idea - SNL movies run the gamut from god-awful to kind of awesome, so it's my kind of topic!
I think a another interesting, albeit unwieldy "bad idea" idea could be to tackle the works of Troma. It may have to be a subset (films produced in-house vs those acquired because there are so many), but then there are a few gems in the acquired column - Def by Temptation, Cannibal! The Musical, and I'm sure some others. Maybe just the films of Lloyd Kaufman, including mainstream films he had a hand in or small role (Rocky, Slither, The Final Countdown), and how James Gunn emerged from his humble beginnings there. I've had a weird fascination with Troma ever since I read a couple of Kaufman's books. It's a case of I respect what they do even if I don't always enjoy what they make.

You’re still doing this bit?
Bit? Me not know what you're talking about.

I am definitely looking forward to your thoughts on "Mondo Video"!
I know you're not a fan of "Coneheads", but I maintain that it's underrated (as is "Stuart Saves His Family").
Definitely a good idea! A lot of those movies are... weird.
Is MacGruber really the most recent movie that's based on an SNL character?
Also, so psyched that The Belush won the poll!

I'm looking forward to your write-up of "It's Pat: The Movie".
Also it's a damned shame Toonces, the cat who could drive a car, never got his feature length moment to shine.
I like the SNL movies idea. Also 70s disaster movies from Airport to Airport '79 might be good too.
...and finish it up with AIRPLANE II: THE SEQUEL!
LOVE this idea, I think that'd be a terrific follow-up!
