I saw this when it played at the theater where I worked in high school. We watched it the night before release (night before staff-only previews were a normal thing) and I recall during one scene that repeats itself several times before the characters realize it, one of my co-workers yelled at the projectionist, "Todd, what did you do?!?"

Worked in a theater one summer in the mid-2000s, can confirm the part about staff-only previews. Wonder if those are still a thing in the age of theaters being all-digital.

Also, the only movie we had all summer with any technical problems was "Stealth," which is a Nabin-worth stinker that "How Did This Get Made?" did at one point.

I imagine you're right - with digital projection there's probably less and less of it going on now. No need to check that the splices are good, right? Plus Thursday night openings have become the new norm, so I bet it's very infrequent if at all. Looking back, that was always a pretty weak excuse for us to see the movie because we really wanted to watch it. It's not like we did it for every film, just the big ones. Fun memories, though.

I think someone had to test out every film in our theater, it's just that more of us were watching the test screening of "The Dark Knight" than "Must Love Dogs."

I just remember it for the bigger movies. I recall seeing Die Hard 2, Robocop 2, Back to the Future 2 (a lot of sequels, naturally), Batman, and quite a few others, but I'm quite sure no one was checking out the print of Ironweed we ran, or even Rain Man for that matter.

It could also be they just didn't tell me.

My second-favorite of the franchise, after "New Nightmare".

Renny Harlin is a goddamn treasure and we owe New Line a debt of gratitude for giving him a chance to make this.
