It sounded to me like one of those movies whose premise was so awesome it couldn't possibly live up to it—but it sounds like it does, right down to the hilariously perfect casting of Frank Grillo as a molecular biologist who moonlights as a total badass.
Not since Ah-NULD was set to play a theoretical physicist who invents time travel, then goes back in time to both shoot and punch armies of God-Damn Dirty Apes in the face, have I heard of such a perfect match of Man (and yes, it's always going to be a man in this kind of movie) and Premise.....
Hey Nathan, based on this I thought I would take my spouse to see this blind, not even telling her the name of the movie, let alone the concept. But the essential DDD? app informs me a cat dies! How on screen or painful is it? If I don’t do my due diligence, why would they continue to trust me?
It’s a prop cat with a childwolf “gnawing” at its belly. More than I’dlike to see but I shouted “don’t hurt bodega kitty! Fuck you, movie!” Then we all moved on. This movie doesn’t have the attention span for cruelty
I appreciate that, in the midst of this critique, the detail that LDP sports a beard was not lost. Can’t wait to see this one.
It was a perfect afternoon matinee with friends. We were in absolute hysterics several times. Perfect double feature with Moonfall if you ask me.
Epilepsy warning, there’s a decent amount of strobing light and excessive lens flare.
Wow, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much!
