Wild that I have seen almost all of these movies (bar BB2k, Stuart and Mr. Mike) and this is the one I remember virtually nothing about. No specific scenes or gags. I am aware of the Mary Katherine Gallagher character but I'm not sure which bits I know from sketches, the movie, or a female classmate in high school drama who did a perfectly good Molly Shannon impression. I never really "got" the character, as in where the funny was supposed to be.
I can think of a few examples where joking about actors obviously being much older than their characters worked. Simpsons, Walk Hard, Always Sunny. It's an easy joke but it's all in the telling.
Few of these sketch characters can be expanded beyond a bit or two, and often get overexposed on SNL as is. The only reason I saw "few" rather than "none" is because Wayne and Garth from WAYNE'S WORLD somehow managed to make the jump, and given how poor the sequel was I wonder if that wasn't thanks to Penelope Spheeris's directing.
Since I had my first child in 2016 Harland Williams will always be the Puppy Dog Pals guy. Thanks for entertaining my kids so much Harland!
