Ernest teams up with a most atypical Saint Nick in a gloriously off-brand Christmas comedy that doubles as a cockeyed look at low-budget genre filmmaking.

Reading this review of a movie I saw as a kid, I gotta say that "The Santa Clause" took a LOT from this movie, idea-wise.
We watched it this December and it has been added to our seasonal cannon along with Elf & Dracula Dead and Loving It.
Honestly, it should be more common to make a holiday classic that doesn’t “follow the rules.”
Maybe this year I need to break this out for the kids. Their only exposure to Jim Varney so far is Slinky Dog.
Wait a second, "Christmas Slay" sounds like a Christmas version of "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey!"
Sounds like it's okay that it lost its star.
