You forgot that fellow ALL-Murikan! actor Jemma Redgrave (Sir Michael Redgrave's granddaughter, who we last saw heading up UNIT as Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart's daughter Kate on DOCTOR WHO) as the U.S.'s First Woman President Jessica Danforth.
Between her and Jeremy Irons, I'm wondering WTF they set this movie in the U.S. when they largely shot it in the U.K. and have British actors in the lead roles. Why not make her British Prime Minister? 🤷♂️
The answer about how he is both a beekeeper and a Beekeeper, according to Kurt Wimmer, is that all beekeepers are Beekeepers. Which is the most Kurt Wimmer answer possible.
Kinda hoping that this theoretical prequel will also involve more for Minnie Driver to do. I don't ever mind seeing her on screen - and, like Irons, she adds some gravitas to the proceedings - but her appearance is definitely in the "wait, what's this actor doing here? oh, wait, that was just for one scene." category.
I loved this movie so much. It's literally the best movie I've seen this year. No way are any of the films racking up nominations right now half as good as The Beekeeper.
THE BEEKEEPER is definitely stoopid fun, but I also have to recommend the same story told in a different way: THELMA. It's a hoot and has two amazing performances by June Squibb and the late Richard Roundtree. You won't be disappointed.

Unless you're expecting Jason Statham spin kicks. June Squibb does not do those, and "Thelma" suffers as a result. Just had to protect my man J-Stath.
