Interesting article, but it’s odd that there is no mention of Kim Peek, the Savant who inspired the film. In recent years, it’s been revealed that Peek WAS NOT autistic and had another neurodivergence condition…
As a blessed person with autism myself (born on the same year as the movie and diagnosed earlier in my teens plus happy to know about it), I'm glad The Critic spoofed RM especially the Siskel and Ebert episode where Cruise's character meets his Snowman brother alongside the latter's love of Northern Exposure: "Gotta see moose, gotta see moose" XD

Also parodied on The Tick as Sewer Urchin
Looking forward to this series discussing the delicate nuance of Shane Black's The Predator.
You could say WFRR is more autistic than RM (comment coming from a toonhead and all)
