What lowbrow film series should I tackle next?
I’ve been working ahead on the Nightmare on Elm Street series. All I have left is A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors, and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. So basically, the three best-loved films and the ones co-written by Wes Craven.
It’s been fun, but it makes me wonder: what lowbrow franchise should I write up next for this column? So far I’ve done the Ernest movies, the Fast and the Furious franchise, the Silent Night, Deadly Night movies, the Saturday Night Live and, most recently, the Police Academy saga.
What should I do next? I’m curious as to what YOU, the reader, want from me and this newsletter.
The Pink Panther. Some really great underrated gems, some unadulterated crap. And a LOT of weird spin offs and remakes. Including the one the made out of outtakes and cut scenes of Peter Sellers, two years after he died.
