They're not that nice
After lucratively reuniting with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang star Robert Downey Jr. for 2008’s Iron Man 3, writer-director Shane Black released a spiritual sequel to his directorial debut in 2017’s The Nice Guys, a pulp mystery set in 1977 Los Angeles. It’s another darkly comic mystery about a pair of sharp-witted, perfectly cast smartasses who descend into a seedy, sexy, and dangerous criminal underworld prominently involving desperate movie world players.
