You can't blow up a high school to disco!
Roger Corman famously wanted to make a movie called Disco High before he was convinced by younger, hipper collaborators that you could not blow up a high school to disco music. I love disco and see it as the music of escape, liberation and freedom, particularly where sex, race and gender are concerned, but I agree wholeheartedly with the decision to make Corman’s big youth musical punk rather than disco-themed.
