The story behind the story of the notorious flop Troll 2 is somehow wilder, weirder and harder to believe than the plot of the film itself, which involves the deadly horrors of vegetarianism and, infamously, not a single goddamn troll. What Troll 2 did have were inscrutable Italian filmmakers intent on making a political point only they seemed to understand and a cast full of eccentrics, lost souls and one very chipper dentist with a poignant dream of making it onto the silver screen.
