The Holiday season has arrived! Time to buy my many, many books about national treasure "Weird Al" Yankovic
As an independent author/publisher, as well as the world’s most prolific author of books about “Weird Al” Yankovic (beginning with the 2012 coffee table book Weird Al: The Book, which, weirdly enough, is credited to me and Al Yankovic), there are only really two times when I make money. The first is when the book first comes out and excitement and anticipation for it are at a fever pitch. Then there is the holiday season when pretty much EVERYONE is obligated to buy people presents.
I wrote all these books! Felipe did the important stuff.
You know what makes for GREAT presents? BOOKS! More specifically, MY Books. I specifically designed the extended versions of The Weird A-Coloring to Al, the coloring book Felipe Sobreiro and myself created and The Weird Accordion to Al, my massive guide to Al’s life’ work, to be holiday presents.
Last year I revised The Weird Accordion to Al so that it included a voluminous chapter on the wonder that is Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. You can’t have a definitive, exhaustive look at a man and his music without that instant cult classic.
I cheekily subtitled this latest version The Weird Accordion to Al: Cynical Movie Cash-In Extended Edition in honor of Al’s triumphant return to the world of movies. It’s now 516 pages and includes commentary on Al’s studio albums (including Peter & the Wolf and Medium Rarities) as well as UHF, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, The Compleat Al and every episode of The Weird Al Show as well as Al’s stint as the bandleader/sidekick on the final season of Comedy!Bang!Bang!
Hours of wholesome family fun!
That’s a lot but it’s not all. The book was also fact-checked and copy-edited by “Weird Al” Yankovic himself. Oh, and it features DOZENS of hilarious and creative illustrations by Felipe Sobreiro, who Al personally chose to contribute to The Illustrated Al on the basis of his work with me.
Al also wrote the introduction. What a guy!
I was so overjoyed with Felipe’s illustrations that I thought they merited a book of their own. That was the catalyst for The Weird A-Coloring to Al, a 120 page coloring book covering every stage of Al’s career, including Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
The most recent iteration of this coloring book is called The Weird A-Coloring to Al: Sincere Movie Cash-In Extended Edition. You can buy three signed copies for just twenty dollars, shipping and handling and postage and they come with a free pack of colored pencils.
I’ll make you such a deal! What an amazing, inexpensive Secret Santa/White Elephant gift. Your coworkers will marvel at your wonderful weirdness!
But wait, there’s more!
Felipe and myself also created a color, hardcover version of The Weird A-Coloring to Al called The Weird A-Coloring to Al: Colored-In Special Edition that’s signed and limited to just 270 copies. With each purchase you get one of ten free cards designed by Felipe and signed by himself and myself and limited to 27.
We’re down to our last thirty copies so get em while you can!
I know that a lot of folks are going to buy Weird: The Al Yankovic Story from Shout! Factory this Christmas and The Weird A-Coloring: Cynical Movie Cash-In Edition and The Weird Accordion to Al: Sincere Movie Cash-In Edition were both designed specifically to crassly exploit Al’s latest masterpiece.
Be a Santa that goes crazy—with generosity!—by buying my “Weird Al” Yankovic themed books directly from me.
They're not very nice to the human race!
