Check out the Ralph Nader Episode where The Coneheads AND Bill Murray Debut at Every Episode Ever
It's real good, honest!
I've been doing a project called Every Episode Ever at the extremely unpopular newsletter service Buttondown (What the hell happened to everyone fleeing Substack? They never actually left!), where I write up every episode of Saturday Night Live in chronological order in honor of its upcoming 50th anniversary and the movie Jason Reitman is making about its first episode.
It's been a fascinating journey full of unforgettable moments and amazing episodes, but I wanted to share today's entry because it features the debuts of Bill Murray and the Coneheads and is hosted by Ralph Nader, who legitimately does a great job. Who knew that he even had a sense of humor, let alone could be funny? He even does a sketch predicated on him having sex with blow-up dolls, which I found rather surprising, given his straight-arrow reputation.
It's one of the best episodes and one of the weirdest as well.
So, if you enjoy subscribing to my newsletters, then please do subscribe to Every Episode Ever. It’s a lot of work but a lot of fun.
