Hey you beautiful people,
It is the final day of 2023, this newsletter’s first year of existence so I wanted to thank y’all for sticking with me all year. I would particularly like to thank paid subscribers for helping keep my dream of someday being able to support myself and my family through my labors alive.
It was a tough year but this newsletter was one of its highlights. I loved going back to the movie theater every weekend to write up new movies. I loved writing up the Ernest P. Worrell and The Fast and the Furious movies and am digging writing up all the Saturday Night Live movies for you.
Creatively I couldn’t be prouder of the first year of Nathan Rabin’s Bad Ideas. Commercially I did okay. I didn’t go great, or even particularly good but I did okay. I have 196 paid subscribers at the moment, and I’m having a very hard time getting past that amount so it would mean the world to me if at least four of you would upgrade to a paid subscription so that I can realize my goal of having 200 paid subscribers by the end of the year.
Incidentally, I plan to collect my pieces on Ernest P. Worrell, The Fast and the Furious movies and the Silent Night, Deadly Night series, along with some similar projects in a book I plan to call Questionable Exercises in Vulgar Extremism but that is, honestly, maybe the fifth or sixth most ambitious idea I have for 2024.
This is gonna be a big year! And I very much want all of y’all to be a part of it.
That book sounds awesome and I can’t wait to buy it!
As a long time Ernest fan I'd love a whole Ernest book! Would love to hear your thoughts on the TV show or Dr. Otto and the Gloom Beam, the weirdest Ernest project of them all
